Tutorial Tuesday: Scrapping 1, 2, 3

Hello, Stefanie here again. Sometimes we know the story we want to tell, we feel inspired by a moment, an event or a photograph. At other times we have a superb new kit that we want to get creative with but don’t really know where to begin. At times like this, I love starting with a template. Amanda Yi has some in The Sweet Shoppe Store, there are others by other designers at The Sweet Shoppe and then there are templates I have in my stash. I wanted to use Amanda Yi Designs and Jady Day Studio’s latest collaboration – Boston Massachusetts.¬†We experienced stunning weather and walked around as well taking a few hop on and hop off bus trips.

I started with two different templates by Debbie Hodge for the beginning page and its companion page.

I first clipped my photos into the assigned photo spots, added the elements I wanted and the fabulous word strips and then tweaked the shadows as I went along.

I didn’t even need a title as I moved the Boston paper to fill the large space at the bottom of the template and to be white space for the Boston skyline as well as my title.

Then onto the second page:

Same thing, I started with the template as is, added my own photos, tweaked the shadows and replaced the embellishments with some from the kit.

Boston 2 final

These two pages work seamlessly together.
