Motivation Monday: Circles as foundation shapes

Hello there, Stefanie here with a look at using circles on your layouts. I have to confess that using photos in the shape of a circle is not my go-to option. However using circles as a foundational layer sure is. When a template has a circle journaling spot that gets a lot of use from me too, especially when there is a text box perfectly shaped for it. Check out some of these layouts from the gallery.

This first one uses circles arranged vertically to add interest and move the eye through the designs. Different colours, patterns and placement make this an intriguing design.

This layout uses circles as a cluster base, still a great mix of patterns and plain, bright and soft colours.

This one uses the same bold black and white star paper with a diagonal draw, in this way the circles act as a unifying element while still adding a sense of movement and re-assurance.

This one is different, a tone on tone journaling filled circular speech bubble uses contrast (however subtle) to stand out against the newsprint background.

Again a great use of circles with different colours and patterns used to add a fun sense of movement along the paper strips, and as a base for a circle title artwork.

Simply stunning!

I hope this gives you some ideas of how and when to use circles so that next time you don;t know where to begin, you will give circles a spin.
